Albert, Cookie, and Tiggy (almost)

I ALMOST managed to get a shot with my 3 kitties in the same frame. Couldn’t get Tiggy to cooperate. He came over by the kittens and me for about 3 seconds. I just couldn’t get the camera turned on fast enough. He is showing signs of getting used to the kittens. One of these days he WILL make friends with them.

Growing up

I swear Cookie gets a little bigger every day! She is growing so well! When my friend brought her to me last week, she told me Cookie was a girl. I thought she was a girl too. But the during the past couple of days she has grown enough to demonstrate that he is, in fact, a boy kitten. And he has figured out how to escape the kennel. He was loose when I got to the barn this morning. I’m pretty sure he was actually sleeping on one of the sheep. The sheep heard me coming down the path and were getting to their feet when I got to the door. What I saw when I first looked in was several sheep just standing up and Cookie rolling a somersault on the floor at their feet. She must have been laying on one of them and fallen off when they stood up. So Cookie did not go in the kennel tonight. He has graduated to a big boy bed!

Napping spot

I couldn’t find Albert this morning. I called and called, looked in all his regular spots. I finally spotted him, sound asleep in Ruby’s favorite nesting spot. It’s just a rusty old dishpan lined with hay, set up on a high shelf. I had to make a nest up there after finding a hoard of eggs on top of the wall. Ruby has been laying in that old dishpan since I set it up for her. I wonder what she will do if she finds Albert there when she’s ready to lay her egg tomorrow…

Tiggy and the new kittens

So Tiggy has not been happy about the new kittens. He is not aggressive towards them, not even a little bit. But he does not like them being around. He has not been in the barn much the past few days. But when the weather is nice he usually doesn’t any way. I’ve just been worried that he will be jealous of the kittens. I have been trying to make a big fuss over him whenever I see him. And if the kittens are around I try to include him in the luvin’. Tonight I had him sniff Albert, then Cookie, then put them back  on the floor and focused my attention on him again. You can see the look he gave me. Hopefully he will get used to them in time.

Becoming buddies

Cookie, Albert, and I are fast becoming good buddies. They are thriving! They are so happy to see me every day. I left the barn door open today. They played on the path, but never strayed far from the door. The romped and pounced and got underfoot. Loving it!
