Cookie is coming for you!
Wow, was it cold today! High 40’s yesterday, low 20’s today. And windy. I should have brought the hose into the barn yesterday, but it has been so unseasonably warm, I never even thought about it. So today I had a frozen hose. I had to use the back-up hose to fill with the water tubs. The back-up hose is full of kinks, which is why it’s the back-up hose. Tomorrow is not supposed to be quite so cold, so hopefully the other hose will be thawed out. Put some antifreeze in the tractor. Took most of the fans out of the barn windows and put the windows back in. Tonight the temps have dropped into the teens. Even though it’s late in coming, I am not ready for this cold weather.
Went to get another load of feeder pumpkins today. Since I had a little helper I decided to load up on squashes instead, as they would be easier for him to pick up. He helped me for quite a while before he got bored and wandered off to entertain himself. He collected milkweed seed pods so he could plant his own milkweed plants. (Sissy would not let him bring them home. Meanie!) Next thing I know he is trying to roll this enormous pumpkin across the field to the car. He wanted to bring it home for post-halloween carving. The car was already full by this point, so I was able to talk him out of that.
Cookie caught a pigeon today! I am so proud. He dragged it all the way down the haymow steps and across the barn, into the feed room. He laid it down next to the kittens’ food dish and then ate some cat food. The pigeon is nearly as big as Cookie. I guess he didn’t feel up to tackling actually eating it. LOL

Joining me in a break from unloading pumpkins.
